Get Re-Inspired

Lately I’ve been feelings low about my art works. It’s be happening more and more. It’s been years since I’ve actually spent  a good amount of time on any illustrations. In the search to find a inspiring artist I came across Agnes – Cecile. Her work is everything that I always inspired to be and still inspire to be. I hope within the next few years I can really work on my skills and create beautiful masterpieces like hers. Here is a speed video of her work that inspired me yesterday. I hope one day people will see my work in art shows.

Creative Monday

It’s Monday afternoon and my creative juices are going! I have 3 pictures drawn out and ready to paint. I have a few more ideas in my head ready to be drawn on paper.

Over the weekend I actually sat down and painted all day. It was a great feeling. After I painted I scanned the picture and used photoshop to enhance some areas I wanted brighter and darker. I’m pretty happy with the way it came out. I used a lot of different mediums like watercolors, acrylics, color pencils, white and black Gel pens and photoshop. Here is the completed picture!

Over the weekend I also got some birthday Presents a week early from my husband!  I got 2 awesome shirts, 2 packages of Astronaut Ice Cream, Cupcake mints, Tetris Mug and my art desk.

My 2 New Shirts! I <3 them!

I hope you all are enjoying my blog as much as I’m enjoying writing in it! One last picture of pure cuteness!

Happy Friday!

Hey Everyone! It’s Friday already and I have so much planned for the weekend. Even though I said I was taking a break from crocheting… I still couldn’t resist making a few things today.

Two items are for a Facebook page (I love my Pomeranian) manager’s Pom. Luckily her full grown Pom is the same size as my 5 month old Pom hahaha. She is advertising my work on her site.

Crocodile Wrap

Dog Beanie

I also Made a Rose out of some fabrics I bought last year. I had a plain made beanie lying around so I added the rose to it. I’m happy the way it came out.  I might make a couple more in the future!

( ..Fabric Rose.. )

I’m very excited to say that I bought a new art table for my painting and drawing. It’s really awesome and I got it delivered overnight for free! I set it up behind my husbands computer desk. I think I took his office over. I’m planning on buying a long flap dog bed to put under my desk for mochi and kuam to chill and nap while I work on some projects. I absolutely love my table! I’m hoping to get some paintings made this weekend to post here! Stayed tuned for more posts this weekend!

Ta-Dah!

Inspirational Video

This video is exactly the art that I love and want to get into. It really has inspired me and I hope it inspires you. I need to get a scanner so I can scan my art work.  After this week I will be working on my other art projects besides Crochet for a little while. My store will still be open and I will still take custom orders … so no worries!

New Yarn Shelves

Good Morning everyone!

I planned over the weekend to go to Ikea to buy some new shelving units for all my yarn and supplies. My husband went online and found some shelves at Target.com that would be perfect. They were cheaper and with the extra money I bought some little containers for the bottom row. Here are my new shelves!

I Absolutely love it. All the bottom containers hold all my loose yarn. I’m really tempted to get some more for the garbage back of yarn my Grandma gave me.  Now it’s time to do a little painting  for a couple days and then I’ll be back to crocheting. Have a great day everyone!

Welcome to Kawaii Crochet – Behind the Scenes!

Hai Everyone! Welcome to Kawaii Crochet -Behind the Scenes Art Blog!

I’m very excited to have this finally up and running. This way you get to see the minds behind the madness, my 2 furry little partners   and what goes on during and after work hours.  First I would like to introduce you to My husband Bill and I (Alisha). Bill is my website master! Without him I wouldn’t have such an amazing site. I’m very lucky he does this for a living. I, on the other hand, worked to be an inspiring Chef about 5 years ago. I went to culinary school for 2.5-3 years and worked at Nordstrom. I fell out of love with wanting to be a chef and began learning how to crochet after my mom started learning how to knit. I made my first hat using a youtube video. It…wasn’t that good looking to say the least, but I wasn’t going to give up.  Now, 2 years later, I have a pretty successful crochet business. I’m very thankful everyday that I can work from home doing something I love to do.

(Bill and I in Japan 2011. My 3rd trip there and his 2nd.)

Now for my Fuzzy Kids. I have 2 Pomeranian puppies named Mochi (almost 11 months old, boy) and Kuma (almost 5 months old, girl). When I’m not crocheting I’m playing and napping with them. Mochi Protects my yarn and all my projects from Kuma. She has a taste for yarn. These guys make working from home interesting every day.
